Meet the Principal
Aaron Eastom
Hello and welcome! I’m Aaron Eastom, honored to serve as principal here at Maplewood Elementary. I earned my undergraduate degree from IPFW and my master’s from PFW. I spent 16 years teaching Pre-K, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, 11 of those years right here at Maplewood. After a year as our Building Instructional Coach, I’m now moving into my first year as Maplewood’s principal. Over the years, I’ve learned that there’s nothing quite like seeing students grow and thrive, it’s what keeps me excited about coming to work every day.
I’m the parent of six amazing kids: Brooke, Bryce, Bradyn, Brennon, Braylin and Braxton. My house is never quiet and life with six kids keeps me on my toes! I love playing basketball and you’ll often find me cheering on my kids during their baseball and basketball games. Honestly, I love my job because, with six kids at home, working with students is the only time I can sneak in a quiet moment… just kidding! Truly, I love leading a school where curiosity, creativity and growth are at the heart of everything we do.
When I’m not at school, you’ll probably find me watching Purdue sports, shooting hoops or spending quality time with my family. Life is busy, loud and full of laughter—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
